Time for summer tyres

The warm weather is back, and with it drier roads and milder temperatures. This is the ideal time to fit your leasing vehicle with summer tyres: more efficient, more fuel-efficient and safer on hot surfaces, they guarantee optimum grip and excellent driving precision when temperatures rise above 7°C. Make the switch now and enjoy the season to the full!

Time for summer tyres

Whether you're a new or experienced Leasys driver, summer and winter tyres are included in your leasing contract, as are rotation and storage.

If you haven't already done so, we invite you to make an appointment now with the tyre center where your vehicle's tyres were stored during the last rotation.

If your vehicle is due to be returned within 3 months, you can, if you wish, leave your winter tyres on until the end of your contract.

Is your vehicle fitted with 4-season tyres? Of course, you don't need to rotate your summer tyres.

You do not know the storage location of your summer tyres?

  • Use the My-Leasys Driver app

In the “Tyres” tab of your application, please select “Tyre change” to find out where your summer tyres are stored, and contact the partner indicated to perform the switch.

Why change ?

It's important to respect the seasons when rotating tyres, to avoid being invoiced at the end of the contract for abnormal wear of the tyres specified in your contract. The reasons are linked to tyre performance, as braking is much less effective due to the softer rubber of winter tyres; the risk of aquaplaning also increases in summer, as the structure of winter tyres does not allow water to evacuate as quickly.

Check your tyre pressure at least once a month

A tyre naturally loses pressure over time, and the amount of air that is lost depends on the temperature. We therefore recommend that you check your tyre pressure, including the pressure of your spare wheel, at least once a month and before any long journey.

Driving with over-inflated or under-inflated tyres shortens your tyres’ lifespan, reduces your driving comfort and impairs the car’s braking and traction. Insufficient pressure causes the tyre’s casing to weaken, with the following consequences: a greater risk of overheating and therefore blow-out, increased rolling resistance and premature wear. Excessive pressure will reduce grip, the tyres’ lifespan and will increase the risk of uneven wear.

It is critical that you inflate your tyres to the pressure recommended by the manufacturer, because that pressure is specifically set for your vehicle. If you follow the recommendations, you will optimise the performance of your tyres, their longevity and your safety. Bear in mind that recommended pressures are different for front and rear tyres.
