DRIVER SUPPORT HUB

Travelling abroad

Everything you need to take your vehicle abroad.
With the increased number of European train and ferry connections, it is very easy to take your vehicle abroad, whether it's for a weekend getaway, a holiday, or a business meeting. To make sure drivers are safe and legal while driving abroad, there are several things they need to know and request in advance prior to leaving the country:

Roadside assistance

Available 24/7 via your Driver Helpline, all Leasys Contract Hire agreements include UK & European Roadside Assistance, meaning that you can be reassured that help is never far away in the case of an incident for you or your drivers. Please refer to your contract T&Cs to find out more.

Travel certificate

Before taking your vehicle abroad, you will need to ensure you have the appropriate paperwork, so you comply with European legislation. You will require a travel certificate from Leasys, known as VE103b, which must be requested at least 14 days before your travel. To request your travel certificate, click on the link below and ensure you provide the following information:

  • Driver and additional drivers full name and address (as shown on the driving licence)
  • Dates of travel
  • Countries visiting

Insurance certificate

Please note you must also inform your insurance company or your company’s insurance department to arrange adequate insurance cover for the country you intend to visit.

Drivers will need to take copies of these documents. To cover the supply and administration required, a fee may be charged to obtaining foreign travel vehicle documents.
